When he first came into the picture, Fai was someone who appeared to be a happy go lucky kind of guy, who was always smiling, always seemingly happy to the general annoyance of one of the travelling companions that he went around with. Though when he first met Kurogane, he never really called him by his actual name. Instead nicknames were created as he liked the reaction he got off the other man when he did call him by the nicknames instead of the real one.

With this happy go lucky side, it may seem like he is an idiot, but in fact he is very good at being able to observe someone and is able to determine if someone has had fighting experience in the past previously just by watching them fight, or at least if they had some type of training before. Though he rarely will show it himself, he is a very skilled fighter when it is necessary, but usually he gets someone else to fight or finds some way out of it and when he does fight, he would just not try very hard to fight for his own life unless there is someone he is close in danger, then he would get more involved. Although later and after some character development he has learned to appreciate himself a tiny bit.

Fai doesn't want to get close to anyone, so he uses the act as his way of not creating a bond between him and the person he is talking to or hanging around with because he doesn't want them to get hurt. This reasoning is because of his past and being known in his world as a twin of misfortune and that bad stuff would tend to happen because he was simply born a twin. Fai during his travels had not realized when he made that bond until someone pointed it out to him. So with him trying to avoid making a bond, he in fact ends up doing what he didn't want.

Fai may act silly, but he can have his mature side when talking about things, or generally when it is needed in one way or another, especially when talking about things that are serious or when a subject is brought up about himself.

Fai does have a way with his words and actions in that he does express strong emotion, as he has shown on a couple of occasions when he has hit Kurogane when he was angry or annoyed, but usually this would not happen often. Fai may not want to or at least use to not want to, but he can get attached to people and then worry about their safety compared to his own.

With Clone!Sakura, at the start of the journey he treated her, much like he did with Clone!Syaoran and that he treated them much like a mother would treat their children, worrying about them and generally being caring.

With his brother, Fai was very close to him because all they really had in that world was each other since others thought of them as cursed and the cause of a lot of misfortune. So Fai was close to his brother, even when they were told that one should kill the other, they didn't. Instead they held hands and ended up being taken to the tower for what should have been forever. When Fai was worried for Yuui, the same could be said for Yuui to Fai as shown when he would go as far as to use dead people's bodies to try and climb up.

Fai had been affected more than his brother, especially when the King killed himself in front of him, this was the start of the whole thing as seeing him down there, the way he was, that's not what his brother wanted. Fai's motives started the moment his brother died and was told that he could bring him back again if he did what the man wanted. This gave Fai a drive to want to live for now, for the moment his brother could possibly come back, although at the same time his way of thinking shows that he really doesn't try and live his life like he should, because of his brother and his past. Overall because of his past and the way Fai had been treated by others, especially with the death of his brother had caused Fai to actually believe that if people do get close to him, that bad things will happen. This was sunk in more when Ashura ended up killing the people of Celes and he blamed himself for what happened.

At the beginning Fai used his happy demeanor to annoy him, mainly because he loved to get a reaction out of him, but from time to time Fai would show a different side whenever Kurogane would bring up a subject he didn't want to talk about. It was one that was more serious and he would drop the act, if only for a brief moment before reverting back to his act. It has been noted that Kurogane was the only one who could see behind the fake smiles and the act, which was something that Fai didn't want anyone else to see at all, but he still rather enjoyed annoying the poor man.

Fai's fake personality was really created when Ashura had taken him in and taught him something; that if you smile, even when you don't feel like it, it makes others feel better in a sense that a smile shows you're okay. Fai from then on would always put on a smile, fake it, to hide how he really was feeling underneath it all and no one really noticed the difference. Fai dwells on his past and that's what really makes him do what he does during the journey with the others and from his canon point currently. Although his attitude to keeping his distance from the others is questionable and was brought up by Kurogane.

[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]:
Fai for starters is able easily detect magic, so if anyone has a magical ability, he is able to pick up on it. Though I am sure he will not know what type of magic it is exactly, he still can sense the magic as shown when he sensed where a fake wall was because there was someone with magic ability behind it.

He may not look like a fighter, but Fai has shown to be able to fight like a pro. Though unlike Kurogane who would fight with a sword, Fai has been shown tp mainly use long distance weapons like a bow and arrow and in one case used a stick to help hit bubbles that stung like acid if they hit you.

Not only can he detect magic, but he can use protection spells and any spells that harm people. This had been noted in a flashback when Fai mentioned the fact that any spell that was to help would always vanish from his mind once he learnt it, but any spells that harmed people he would still always remember. Fai has also learned spells that as he said uses a different kind of magic than his own. This was used when they were trying to escape after they taken a feather from a book, Fai used a spell that involved whistling to help them escape.

He also can change between worlds himself, even though he went with the others for reasons that changed throughout the manga, he can still do it himself if needed. Though he did mention that it can take a lot for the user when they do perform the spell, but this was in fact a lie which gets found out after his canon point.

Fai is a pretty powerful mage as shown in the D in his name, which in Celes meant he was the highest ranked mage from where he was from. The magic he has comes from his eyes, the left one will increase in power the more it is uses while the right one will decrease.

Strengths:
- He can be pretty good at hiding how he really feels using fake smiles and a chipper attitude.
- Because of the fact he can hide things, hiding what he can and cannot do is also a advantage as some might not expect him to do certain things.
- He is a pretty good cook as it is part of magic as he explains in one chapter.
- Can possibly make potions to as again he mentions cooking being a lot like potion making.

Weaknesses:
- There are some people who are able to see through him but it seems it's only those who are the most observant.
- The simple fact that he lies a lot can be considered a weakness in itself even if he is good at it.
- He keeps people at a distance by using his personality.
- He is prone to annoying people due to the way he acts, especially serious people.
[Limited Powers]:
Obviously his worlds travelling abilities will be null and void.

I've heard that people can hear me or see this writing over this thing so I thought I might give it a go and see what happens, while at the same time seeing what people think about an idea I have.

Considering we are suppose to be pirates and are meant to be in crews and travel on ships, which is somewhat of a new experience for me and I noticed that people seem to give names to hier crews and ships, so I was wondering...

Do you think 'The Cat's Meow' would be a good name for a ship?
